This article explains how to configure an Apple iPhone to use Funambol to synchronize contacts via the MailEnable SyncML synchronization service.

DETAIL

Requirements: Funambol for Apple iPhone - https://www.forge.funambol.org/download/

NOTE: SyncML service is exclusive to Enterprise version 4 series of MailEnable.

NOTE: Please consult within the Funambol Readme guide and the Apple iTunes documentation on how to install the Funambol application on the iPhone.

Ensure that the MailEnable SyncML option has been enabled. Follow the steps below:

* Navigate within the MailEnable administration console to: Servers>localhost>services>synchronization.
* Right click on "Synchronization" and select "Properties" from the popup menu.
* Navigate to the "SyncML" tab and tick the box "Enable SyncML support".
* Ensure the MailEnable HTTPMail service is running under: Servers>localhost>system>services.

iPhone Funambol "Account" settings:

* Server Location: http://example.com:9090/syncml
* Username: mailboxname@postofficename
* Password: ********

iPhone Funambol "Contacts" confgiuration settings:

* Sync Direction: Two-way
* Remote Name: card
